A fire engine visited our Year 2 pupils as part of their learning about the Great Fire of London. The children were excited to meet real firefighters and explore the equipment used to tackle modern-day fires. The visit helped them compare past and present firefighting methods, deepening their understanding of how technology and safety have evolved since 1666. The hands-on experience brought their history topic to life, sparked thoughtful questions and supported rich discussion back in the classroom.

                                                 

  

  

                           

 

It was particularly exciting when they got to spray the powerful hose down the school drive, under the careful supervision of the Firefighter!
