Our Year 2 children have been exploring the story of the Great Fire of London by building small model houses to represent Pudding Lane. Using simple materials, they worked together to recreate the tightly packed buildings that stood there in 1666. The children then safely watched as the models were burned under close supervision, helping them to understand how quickly the fire spread from house to house. This hands-on experience brought history to life and helped the children see why the fire was so difficult to stop.
