At Singlewell Primary School we always look forward to World Book Day. We enjoy the chance to dress up, celebrate reading and enjoy our learning with friends.

In the morning, we had a special assembly. We shared some of our favourite things about the day.

“I love seeing all my friends dressed up!”  

“It’s really fun sharing my favourite book and seeing what my friends’ favourite books are too.”

Then we had ‘The Masked Reader’.

We watched some clips of our teachers reading mystery stories and had to guess who they were and what they were reading.

In class, we participated in some fun activities. We wrote about our favourite books, the characters we were dressed as and shared some of our favourite extracts.

In the afternoon, the teachers did a ‘swap’ and went and read to a different class. We really enjoyed having someone different reading with us.

We were also lucky enough to have an author visit the following day and the Book Fair arrived for us to spend our World Book Day tokens!
