Singlewell Primary School
Head Boy & Head Girl
Meet Olivia and Qamar our new Head Boy and Head Girl!
They are very responsible Year 6 pupils who were elected to be Singlewell's Head Pupils.
At Singlewell, it is essential to teach our Year 6s that as the oldest in school, they are role models to the other children and therefore are first in line for certain responsibilities.
We wanted Head Pupils who would embody our CARES values at all times.
All Year 6 pupils received a description of what the role of Head Pupil involves and had the opportunity to apply. Many pupils wrote their applications, which all staff viewed and shortlisted eight finalists collaboratively. The eight finalists then presented why they would be best suited for the role in large assemblies and the children voted for who they wanted to be led by.
Olivia: "I am definitely looking forward to showing round the Governors (and any other visitors!) and really enjoy being part of the assemblies. I like being able to talk to Mrs Catt and Mrs Broad about ideas for the school."
Qamar: "I will enjoy showing visitors around our classes and showing our amazing work in our school. I am also looking forward to working alongside Mrs Catt and Mrs Broad to help improve and boost our school with our ideas."
